Hymn #152

God be with you till we meet again;
By his counsels guide, uphold you;
With his sheep securely fold you.
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus' feet,
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

It was the last song my family sang for me. Inside our suburban, on the way to Salt Lake City airport, on my departure day to Jakarta, Indonesia. 18th of June 2013.

I was crying so bad. I couldn't think straight, I couldn't hold my tears, I couldn't smile at all. My host sister and mom were crying too, that's all I could remember because I didn't even look at the back seat.

I remember the time when we watched Mormon Tabernacle choir together couple weeks before. My host mom and I both cried when they sang that song, and I just cried without knowing why did I do that. My host mom told me that she sang that song a lot during her mission, and it's hard to say goodbye to the people that she taught without knowing when will they meet each other again. But yet they still wish to see each other someday, or just pray that God keeps them safe until that day.

And I remember I secretly wished my family to sing it for me, and they did it. And It's such a blessing that they did it. I hummed that song a lot during my flight and it made me cried. I couldn't stop even when we were in Taiwan (it's like the day after said goodbye). And I cry when I wrote this post.

This family is full of love. I just feel grateful for them, for the standards they hold, for their rules and their routines, their grace towards each other, and their life under God. I told myself that I want to build a family like them one day, and I mean it.

I know we will meet again one day.

And till that one day,
may God be with you till we meet again, Huberts.
